Meet one of our expert resident farmers, Hanafi Ahmand, who has over 13 years of experience in the farming industry. He was first exposed to farming while studying agriculture at university where he planted and harvested his own crops such as sawi, kailan and chilli. Witnessing his crops grow from seedling to harvest brought young Hanafi immense satisfaction, and so what started as a university assignment has become a lifelong passion.
In staying current on developments within the industry, Hanafi strongly believes that pesticide-free farming and use of technology can give more value to consumers through what they eat and maintenance of good health, something that he can achieve at JustGood Roots because he gains the ability to merge his agricultural knowledge with present-day technological resources. Asked what his proudest achievement is, Hanafi was quick to say, “harvesting high quality crops at JustGood Roots”.
Hanafi is the paragon of how local farmers can benefit through collaboration with JustGood Roots. They have the expertise in farming but when boosted by our resources, which is otherwise beyond their financial grasp, they acquire the capacity to grow high quality crops sustainably for the long-term, which means sustainability for the livelihood of their families.
Afterall, farmers are our connection to food, and if our farmers are thriving, so is the health of the nation.
